Most valuable undergrad degree: Management, Marketing, or Finance?

Projos asked:

I’m an undergrad business student trying to select the most marketable/desirable major for employers. Which would you recommend I focus on: Management, Marketing, or Finance?

If it helps:
- I plan to earn my MBA (General Management) 8-10 years from now
- I’d like to work overseas (Europe) after graduation
- I currently own a small business, and intend to invest in more in the future
- I have experience in all these areas, and find the options equally appealing

Thanks in advance for any advice you have!
If you would briefly explain your answer, I would greatly appreciate it!

Business major options?

I AM LEGEND asked:

The college im going to offers degree’s in:
Master in Business Administration(MBA)
Master in Management(MIM)
Ba or Bs in business Administration, with options in:
Accounting,Management,Marketing,Small Business Managment and Hospitality and Tourism Management
And Minors in:
Business Adminstration
Hospitality and Tourism Management

I limited it down to just majoring in Business Administration or going with the Marketing or Management option. I feel like im pretty intrested in Marketing, it seems less of a stressful job than management. However im not sure what jobs you can get with a major business marketing. Im also going to working in a smaller city to begin with so that’s what draws me towards major in Admin., that way I don’t have to be so limited to what jobs I can get. At the same time I’ve heard having specific skills gets you a much higher paid job because you can work right away in the company.
So im just wondering if those of you with experience have some advice?

Ryan S asked:

I am currently employed with a company that has illegal business practices. Unemployment insurance only covers a layoff, not a voulantary quit.

I MUST get out, but this is the only source of income for me and my pregnant fiencee. Family members are not in a position to help out. I do run a small business doing computer repair for businesses and residential clients, but due to the lack of funds for an advertising budget, my client base is too small to provide a sufficent income to cover for a full time job.

To make things even more difficult, I made some bad choices when I was 17 that left me with forgery & bad check felony convictions.

On the plus side, I have 2 vocational certificates (1 year each). One in Business Office Administration, and one in Computer Networking. I also have various technical certifications, and am certified in HIPAA compliance.

Also on the plus side, I am an experienced manager and it person with 7 years of experience. Willing to relocate.

Any ideas?

Ok, so I graduated in 2001 from Johnson & Wales University in Food Service Management. I’ve been in foodservice in one reguard or another, whether it be waitressing, bartending and now management at a hospital cafeteria.
I have only been a Supervisor now for 4 months and absolutely **** IT! I think about not going in, like every day… But my family and fiance are so proud of me for getting the job and getting the great benefits. Now, I can’t even switch my job until 6 months is up, and even then I’m not guaranteed that there will be a good position that pays similarly to what I currently make.
I’ve thought about going back to school, either Medical Assisting or Nursing working in Dermatology or for a Plastic Surgeon. But I’m so confused… Ultimately I would love to start my own small business. Does anyone have any advice or information on what the next best small biz to open, would be???

I feel like I lack focus and can’t figure out what career to concentrate on… HELP!
